Best Hentai Manga Sites

Author: Night Analytics Team How We Rank Updated:
Night Analytics may earn a commission from some outbound links. Affiliate relationships never affect ranking order or editorial conclusions.

This ranking compares specialist hentai manga, doujinshi and adult-comics sites that are useful for reading or discovering drawn adult content. The list includes free archive-style readers, community gallery systems and paid publishers, but excludes general image platforms where hentai manga is only a small part of the product.

Night Analytics orders the qualified sites by estimated monthly website traffic from one common September 2026 snapshot. Traffic shows relative popularity, not content quality, safety, legality or editorial endorsement. We then add practical context around reader format, search and tagging, access model, publisher status and the main trade-offs that can change which site is actually useful for a particular reader.

Quick Picks

Traffic leader

nHentai

Best for: readers who want one of the largest specialist hentai-manga audiences in this comparison.

Note: its lead is a popularity result only; Night Analytics does not treat traffic as a quality or safety score.

Metadata-heavy discovery

Hitomi.la

Best for: readers who browse by work type, language, creator and detailed tags.

Note: individual entries expose structured metadata and online reading/download options, which makes the site useful for targeted discovery.

Power-user galleries

E-Hentai / ExHentai

Best for: experienced users who value deep gallery search, tags, categories and community-maintained metadata.

Note: we treat E-Hentai and ExHentai as one service family rather than giving the same ecosystem two ranking positions.

BL / yaoi / bara focus

MyReadingManga

Best for: readers looking for a more specialized adult manga catalog with a strong BL, yaoi and bara orientation.

Note: this is a more specific editorial fit than the broad general-purpose hentai archives above it.

Flexible filtering

IMHentai

Best for: readers who want filters for manga, doujinshi and related gallery types plus sorting by recency, popularity, downloads and ratings.

Note: the current working domain is imhentai.xxx; older references to other IMHentai domains should not be assumed current.

Licensed publisher

FAKKU

Best for: readers who prefer an established paid publisher/store rather than an archive-style reader.

Note: FAKKU sells individual store items without requiring its subscription, while the subscription itself has separate recurring billing terms.

Direct artist support

Irodori Comics

Best for: readers who want localized doujinshi sold by a publisher that works directly with artists.

Note: Irodori says its digital doujinshi are DRM-free downloads and that its main Irodori Comics line is erotic, while other labels cover all-ages and BL/Yuri material.

How We Ranked These Hentai Manga Sites

Night Analytics started with the roadmap seed list, expanded it with additional specialist readers and publishers, and then collected one common September 2026 traffic snapshot. The final ranking contains 31 service entries. The largest measured audiences were nHentai at about 74.1 million monthly visits, Hitomi.la at 65.5 million, the combined E-Hentai / ExHentai family at 46.6 million, and MyReadingManga at 15.6 million.

We removed duplicate nHentai clone domains and sites whose root traffic did not fairly represent hentai manga. Hentai20 was moved out because its current reader mixes manhwa and manga, and the Night Analytics taxonomy assigns it to the adjacent hentai manhwa/webtoon comparison for a cleaner like-for-like ranking. MultPorn and Luscious were not used in the automatic order because their root-domain audiences span broader multi-format adult products. E-Hentai and ExHentai share one family entry, so their domain traffic is combined and marked as family-wide rather than counted as two independent services.

Traffic is a directional popularity signal, not an audited user count. It does not tell you whether a catalog is licensed, whether a site is safer, whether the reader experience is better, or whether a service is the right fit for your preferred format. Methodology: How We Rank

What the Leading Hentai Manga Sites Do Differently

nHentai

nHentai is the clear traffic leader in this specialist set. That makes it the strongest traffic-based popularity signal in this specialist dataset for general hentai manga and doujinshi discovery, but Night Analytics deliberately stops there: a traffic lead does not prove better curation, licensing, privacy or trust. The main reason to start with nHentai is breadth and audience scale, not an assumption that the largest site is automatically the best one.

Hitomi.la

Hitomi.la stands out for structured discovery. Current title pages expose the work type, language, creator or group, series information and detailed tags, and support online reading and downloads. That metadata makes Hitomi especially useful when the reader already knows the language, franchise, artist or tag combination they want rather than simply browsing a front page.

E-Hentai / ExHentai

E-Hentai is a more complex gallery ecosystem than a simple manga reader. Its official wiki documents categories, publish dates, ratings, tags, uploaders, comments, favorites, archive downloads and advanced search. The same documentation says gallery viewing itself is not paywalled, while some archive and account features use the site's internal currencies or account systems.

Because E-Hentai and ExHentai are parts of the same broader ecosystem, Night Analytics combines their measured traffic into one family entry. That prevents a single service family from occupying two positions and makes the ranking easier to compare with single-domain readers.

MyReadingManga

MyReadingManga is not simply another general hentai archive. Its catalog and public positioning lean heavily toward adult manga, doujinshi, BL, yaoi and bara material. That makes it a better fit for readers who want those niches specifically, even though its measured audience is smaller than the three largest general-purpose ecosystems above it.

IMHentai

IMHentai currently exposes a useful set of reader controls: manga and doujinshi are separated from Western, image-set and CG categories, while sorting includes latest, popular, downloaded and top-rated views. It also offers tag, parody, artist, character and group navigation. For readers who prefer to narrow a large archive through multiple metadata routes, that is more useful than a single chronological feed.

HentaiFox

HentaiFox remains a strong manga-and-doujinshi fit, but it is slightly broader than a pure reader because the current site also connects to hentai video content. Its manga side exposes parodies, tags, characters, artists and groups, and the site states that gallery downloads are available after free registration. That makes it useful for both browsing and collecting, while the mixed-format footprint is worth remembering when comparing traffic with manga-only sites.

Free Archive-Style Readers vs Licensed Publishers

The ranking intentionally mixes reader-style sites with a small number of paid publishers because both satisfy the same basic search intent: finding hentai manga or doujinshi to read. They are not interchangeable products, though. Archive-style sites optimize for breadth and browsing; publisher stores emphasize authorized releases, purchases and direct commercial relationships with creators or Japanese rights holders.

ExampleModelBest forPractical trade-off
nHentai / Hitomi.laArchive-style readerFast, broad discoveryPopularity and catalog breadth do not establish licensing or publisher support
E-Hentai / ExHentaiCommunity gallery systemPower users, tags and gallery metadataMore complex account, currency and gallery mechanics
MyReadingMangaNiche readerBL, yaoi and bara-oriented discoveryNarrower editorial focus than general hentai archives
FAKKUPublisher / store / subscriptionLicensed commercial releasesPaid access; store purchases and subscription are separate models
Irodori ComicsDoujinshi publisher / storeLocalized works and direct artist supportIndividual paid purchases rather than a free archive experience

FAKKU's current support documentation says a subscription is not required to buy items from its store. Irodori says it works directly with doujinshi artists, sells localized works through its own store, and provides DRM-free digital downloads. Those are materially different buying models from the free reader sites, so the better choice depends on whether the priority is breadth, convenience or authorized paid releases.

Why Some Large Adult-Comics Sites Are Not in the Ranking

A traffic ranking is only useful when the products are comparable. We therefore excluded several measurable domains even when their raw traffic was high:

  • Hentai20: the current reader mixes manhwa and manga. Night Analytics assigns it to the adjacent hentai manhwa/webtoon intent so this list stays focused on specialist manga/doujinshi readers.
  • MultPorn: the root site mixes comics and manga with pictures, video and games, so platform-wide traffic would overstate the manga-specific audience.
  • Luscious: the root domain is a broader adult gallery platform, making its total traffic non-comparable with specialist manga readers.
  • nHentai clone domains: unofficial or duplicate domains are not allowed to create extra ranking positions for the same brand family.
  • Broad mainstream manga or art platforms: a hentai category inside a huge general platform is not the same product as a specialist adult-manga site, and its root traffic would distort the order.

Access, Downloads and Reader Experience

The main usability split is between instant browser reading, account-enhanced archive tools and paid libraries. Hitomi and IMHentai emphasize metadata-heavy browsing; E-Hentai adds deeper gallery mechanics; HentaiFox says free registration unlocks gallery downloads; FAKKU and Irodori use commercial store models instead of a free archive-first experience.

Account and access behavior can also change by site or region. E-Hentai's official technical guidance specifically warns that third-party scripts, proxies or tools are not required to access its galleries and can sometimes interfere with normal viewing. HentaiFox currently presents an adult age gate and warns that outbound links may lead to external sites with their own age-verification requirements. These are practical access notes, not safety endorsements of either platform.

Public Feedback

Independent user feedback exists for parts of this category, but it is fragmented across mirrors, reader extensions, access troubleshooting and community discussions. We did not find a consistent enough evidence base to assign broad positive/negative sentiment labels across the leading sites. For this ranking, first-party product behavior, current access checks and the common traffic dataset are more decision-useful than forcing isolated forum comments into a category-wide reputation score.

How to Choose a Hentai Manga Site

Start with the reading model rather than the ranking position. Use nHentai or Hitomi.la when broad discovery matters most; E-Hentai when you want deeper gallery metadata and power-user tools; MyReadingManga when BL, yaoi or bara is the priority; IMHentai or HentaiFox when you want more explicit filtering and archive-style navigation; and FAKKU or Irodori when paid publisher releases matter more than free browsing.

Then compare the details that affect actual use: whether the site works without an account, whether downloads are available, how well tags and language filters match your search habits, whether the product is manga/doujinshi or webtoon/manhwa, and whether you want a free archive or an authorized publisher/store relationship.

FAQ

What is the most popular hentai manga site in this ranking?

nHentai has the highest comparable specialist-domain traffic in the September 2026 dataset, at about 74.1 million estimated monthly visits. That is a popularity result, not a quality or safety verdict.

What is the best site for detailed hentai manga tags and metadata?

Hitomi.la and E-Hentai are the strongest metadata-oriented choices in the leading group. Hitomi exposes type, language, creator and tag data on individual works, while E-Hentai adds a deeper gallery, category and tagging system.

Which hentai manga sites sell licensed or publisher releases?

FAKKU and Irodori Comics are the clearest publisher/store options in this ranking. FAKKU sells individual items and also operates a separate subscription model; Irodori localizes and sells doujinshi while describing direct relationships with artists.

Why are E-Hentai and ExHentai one ranking entry?

They belong to the same broader service ecosystem. Counting them as separate products would give one family two positions, so Night Analytics combines their measured domain traffic and labels the value as family-wide.

Why is Hentai20 not included?

Hentai20 currently mixes manhwa and manga. Night Analytics places it in the adjacent manhwa/webtoon comparison so this ranking stays focused on a more comparable set of manga/doujinshi readers.

Does higher traffic mean a hentai manga site is better?

No. Traffic estimates relative popularity. They do not measure licensing, privacy, safety, reader quality, catalog accuracy or how well a service fits a specific preference.
